Skiz is the author of the new book The Chronicles of DOOM: Unravelling Rap's Masked Iconoclast which tells DOOM's extraordinary story in brilliant detail. It covers DOOM's childhood in New York, his early success with KMD, the tragic loss of his brother Sub Roc, his years in the hip hop wilderness, his triumphant return as the masked super villain, his deportation from the USA, and his tragic end in a hospital in northern England.
In this episode we also hear from The Pro-Teens' Hudson Whitlock. The Pro-Teens have just released an album of DOOM instrumental covers. We also hear from Jake Wherry formally of the Herbaliser, who worked with DOOM back in the early 00s, and Romesh Ranganathan who could listen to DOOM all day.
