  • Immediate Reaction to Mavericks Winning Big at 2025 NBA Draft Lottery (Episode 020)
    2025/05/13

The Collective Basketball Agreements Podcast, hosted by Joe Manganiello. Deep NBA & WNBA Coverage from a Pro Basketball Negotiation Champion, analyzing pivotal jargon & implications of the Hoops industry.

    On this show:

    1. Dallas Mavericks win the lottery and thus the right to draft consensus pick Cooper Flagg. But here’s the 1A story: Utah (#5), Washington (#6), and New Orleans (#7) dramatically lose the lottery as once again the flattened lottery odds penalize the league’s worst teams to the benefit of more fortunate franchises like Dallas, San Antonio (#2), and Philadelphia (#3).

    2. San Antonio may be in pole position to make a Giannis trade — reloading the franchise around last year’s #1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama; recently acquired veteran star DeAaron Fox, who is up for a 9-figure extension; and Antetokounmpo by sending Milwaukee all that they can, including Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle and the #2 and #14 selections in this year’s draft.
    3. The Brooklyn Nets dropped to No. 8 but emerged with the most cap space in the NBA and four first-round picks overall. Could Brooklyn be a stealth star destination this summer — or a trade partner that reshapes the league?
