  • From Corporate To Non-Profit
    2025/06/05

We're so excited to introduce our guest for this episode, Miranda Malone, owner of Essential Rejuvination Medical Esthetics and founder of Elley's Hope. Her integrity while in corporate and after she left is inspirational and a huge reason why she is perfect to run a non-profit.

Miranda's corporate story is tough, but she has come out on top and is a successful business owner today! She also runs a newer but also successful non-profit and she spent some time with us explaining the best ways to get your non-profit started.

Looking to start a non-profit? Miranda explained the process of getting the 501c3. It's extensive, difficult and expensive, but she did the work and got hers quickly! She did it all without a lawyer and says if she had it to do again, she would have hired someone to help do this for her after some hiccups in the first year. She also talked us through so much other great advice for getting a non-profit set up. You don't want to miss it.

Miranda also gave advice to anyone who wants to help a non-profit. The easiest way she recommended was to share, comment, and like non-profit posts on social media. She also recommends volunteering and asking your company to sponsor events.

If you are looking for a non-profit that you are passionate about helping, we hope you will consider donating your time or money to Elley's Hope. Please follow them on socials and check out their website to stay up-to-date on upcoming fundraisers and events. • The Post-Corporate Identity Crisis
    2025/05/29

This episode was cathartic for us! We dug all the way into the feelings we had leaving corporate. The identity crisis was wild. Who am I without the job that was such a huge part of my life? The imposter syndrome, the major change in lifestyle/social life and routines, and the chaotic, hot mess of starting something new are so real for a lot of people.

We hope that everyone who may be struggling post-corporate knows that it's hard for everyone. It's not a crisis, it's a process and you're not alone.

  • Reigniting Passion: In Work, Life, or Somewhere in Between
    2025/05/22

Welcome to our 13th episode, with special guest Alana Lerch. We love her story about how and why she left corporate, and what she did next.

Her experience after leaving her job was incredible. She spent 8 months finding herself, her passions, and what she wanted to do next. It isn’t something everyone can afford to do, but it was so inspiring to hear how she figured it all out.

We dig in with Alana about burnout, of course, and also talked a length about making changes and finding your passion outside your work.

Something that Alana explains to us is how to find what you’re good at and how to dump off the things you don’t enjoy doing. Delegation is key! She recommends a book called StrengthsFinder. Here is the link if you want to order this book - https://a.co/d/64fzLfT

We love this conversation about only doing things you are good at AND that you like to do, so you enjoy work and life.

Another thing that Alana taught us is the steps to find yourself outside of work and how to strategically find joy. Profound!! We also learned that finding an accountability partner can help you figure this out together.

If you would like Alana to be your change bestie, check out her website at changeravenllc.com. She would love to help you!

  • Why High Performers Burn Out First
    2025/05/08

On this week's episode about high performers, The Mandys find out that they are high performers! We found out from a video we found from a creator on TikTok - High Performer Coach. If you don't know if you're a high performer, you will find out after watching this video we played.

We really dig into the pros and cons of being a high performer, signs that being a high performer are leading you to burnout, and how to balance your life and work, even when you feel like the work is never done.

Mandy Alt had a breakthrough during this conversation and figured out that where she has been good at setting boundaries in her personal life, she never did that at work when she was having the same burnout that she gets when her social battery is draining. It seems so easy! It has actually changed something and she has set work boundaries over the last week.

We hope that you got something from this conversation like we did. Tell us the change you are going to make if any of this is a problem you have.

Don't forget! Tell us your corporate secrets. Send on our website using this link - https://www.thecorporateburnouts.com/secrets

  • Protect Your Health - Don't Let Stress Take You Down
    2025/05/01

In this episode of The Corporate Burnouts Podcast, we have a special guest, Caleena Karstens. Caleena is a fellow corporate burnout with a backround in hospital administration. It was crazy to hear her stories about 2020 in the hospital setting and her dismissal from a job that was making her sick.

We loved the conversation with Caleena about things you can do to manage your stress while in corporate and rid your body of the trauma you are still holding after leaving.

Caleena is now the proud owner of The Renewal Haven. She is a wellness practitioner bringing message therapy, reiki and coaching together to help body, mind and spirit. She gave us a great overview of Reiki, one of the number one ways that she helps people rid trauma from their body.

She talked through the best ways to find a reiki practitioner that's best for you in your area. She also talked about her life coaching specialty (helping people find their joy/passion) and told us about the huge amount of specialties in life coaching. There are life coaches for everything! She recommends finding someone specific to your needs.

  • Align Your Job With Your Life, Not Vice Versa
    2025/04/24

This week our episode digs into what it's like to be a woman in gas and oil or male dominated industries in general. We had a great time with our guest, Kristen Hogue, hearing her experience. She went through her entire career in oil and gas and shared her business, Scout Guide Abilene, with us.

Kristen's journey through oil and gas was a bit of a roller coaster because climbing the corporate ladder didn't lead where she imagined for awhile, but she made her way to the perfect job for her. She landed somewhere that supports her owning a business on the side so she can make a living while she builds her business.

It was really cool to hear about Scout Guide, the franchise she purchased, to curate a beautiful book that promotes local businesses and helps people find the best ways to shop local.

We enjoyed our conversation with Kristen about going to college or not. We love her stance on "find what you love and are good at and go do it". We completly agree! Even if you went to school for a specific career and you hate it, get out. Go follow your dreams and be happy!

We ended this pod by reading some comments from a post we made on TikTok asking women in a male dominated field "what is the craziest thing that a man said to you at work?" We hope that most of you haven't dealt with this.

If you want to connect with Kristen or learn more about the Scout Guide, follow her using these links.

  • Networking Like A PRO
    2025/04/17

Welcome to the podcast, Dena Woulfe, former nurse turned holistic nurse. It was incredible to hear her "corporate" story about her time working in a hospital, the biggest greed machine there is, and what led her to leave and start her own thing. It's crazy to be doing a job that you don't believe in and we are so proud of what she accomplished after leaving.

Dena shares with us that she built her entire business by networking and building relationships, but it was a little difficult because she is naturally an introvert. We definitely related to that, even Mandy Holt, who is an extrovert who becomes very shy at networking events.

Dena also shares how important it is to make building relationships and doing 1 to 1 meetings the focus of networking. Networking is not for sales pitches!

Her big secret to networking success is to bring value to every single meeting and new relationship. She says "givers gain" and she's exactly right. If you give first, you will always get something back in return. The sad part is that not everyone knows this and still walks into a meeting and immediatly starts to attempt to sell to the room.

Her next secret is to create relationships with people who do the same thing or something similar to you because those people are the best referral partners. You generally have the same client avatar and you are way more likely to send and receive business together. No one is your competition!

Dena's last secret is that networking isn't just to build your business, it is also a great place for job seekers to find a job. People would be surprised how many people will connect you with their own networks to help you find a job or even start a business. Amazing!
