That's what her father's home was- a burnt-out parcel of coal and once-memories, with rugged pillars of pine sticking up from the ashes in a display of defiance. As if to say, no, we stand strong; we are undefeated. But it was defeated. God, it was.

The remains of the once great Foxkey Manor had sunken into the earth. No breath, no hope, no life left in those hollow walls. It was now nothing more than a husk. Reduced to the raw remains of a foundation and walls—walls burnt to coal, coal burnt to ashes.

Ashes to ashes.

Dust to dust.

"You wouldn't be pointing that weapon at me now, would you?" The snake asked, grey eyes watching Vera like one might a mouse. "Do ya think you'll get off a lucky shot?" She drawled, taking a bite of her apple and chewing loudly as she ambled closer.

Hunting. Waiting.

It was enough to send a shiver down Vera's spine and a flush to her cheeks. A glint of curiosity turned up the corner of the stranger's mouth, revealing white teeth. The smile was overshadowed by the threat she represented. Her teeth looked…oddly sharp.

Chased by the ghosts of her past from St.Louis into the wild west of Texas, she must face her family's legacy, to save her daughter, and more importantly the world from a whole new existence filled with demons, and monsters.

She must face the secrets of her past to discover the power within.

White and black.

If only the world were so simple, but it isn’t. Montgomery Bernard was firmly and stoutly in the black, but that was not how he had always been. Before, well, before, he had been gray. Not bad, not good, just human. Now, Montgomery Bernard was definitely no longer human, and death followed in his wake, painting his trail in black so dark there was no seeing outside of it.

Roden, Eastern Tennesse. A town hidden within the shadows of a mountain. A place even it’s own people would be pressured to find on a map. Land rich in hunting and forage, and most importantly gold. Why to those strong enough to take it, Roden was heaven sent, a gift from god, and it? It lured them in like swine to the slaughter.

Starting as little more than a collection of tents, the place grew into solid timber and iron. Those filled with greed and desire found what they desired and took it for their own, and they thrived.
