"The trend over time has been to flatten levels by getting rid of structures," explains Moregson. "One of the reasons why we see this flattening is cost control. if you can remove layers of management you have less leaders you have to pay and organise."

The ongoing flattening of organisational gives employees the power to help people become more "autonomous".
