  • Breaking the Chains of Self-Sabotage: A Journey to Thriving
    2025/06/17

Hi Friends, welcome to another transformative episode of the Human Thrive Podcast. I'm Amanda, your coaching consultant and founder of Neurodivergent Thrive Coaching, guiding you on a journey to clarity, growth, and emotional freedom. In this special space, everyone is welcome, whether neurotypical, neurodivergent, or unsure of where you fit in.

In today's episode, we delve deep into the world of self-sabotage, a phenomenon that often holds us back from achieving our true potential. Drawing from personal experiences and the stories of those I've coached, we'll explore why we unwittingly stand in our own way. For many of us, fears of success and failure become invisible walls we can't see but feel at every turn.

Join me as I recount my own battle with self-sabotage, from impulsively signing up for a master's degree while juggling a podcast and coaching business, to reaching a pivotal realization: my actions were driven by fear and distraction. I had to remind myself of my goals and the path I wanted to pursue, resisting the tug of needless distractions.

We'll touch on the thoughts of psychologist Gay Hendricks, who introduces the concept of the 'upper limit,' a subconscious barrier to success. This upper limit, a stealthy foe, can make the path to success seem daunting and out of reach, urging us to retreat into comfort zones.

For those with ADHD, the challenge can be even greater. When the brain craves stimulation, consistency can feel like an insurmountable mountain. Yet, through intention and small, deliberate steps, we can overcome these patterns. I'll share actionable steps to break free from the self-sabotage cycle, encouraging you to call out your fear of expansion and start with tiny, manageable steps.

Your journey to breaking free from the constraints of self-doubt begins here. Let's dismantle those barriers and embrace the success you're capable of achieving without fear. Walk away from this episode with a powerful mindset shift: You're not sabotaging because you're broken—you're on the brink of breakthrough. Lead your mind with love, and watch the possibilities unfold.

Thank you for joining me today. Remember to be kind to yourself, and let's continue this journey together. Share this episode, leave your thoughts in the comments, and visit my website for worksheets and resources to help you on your path. Until next time, keep thriving!

This week, we delve deep into the explosive world of ADHD content on TikTok, unraveling the sensational myths and uncovering the hidden truths about this often misunderstood condition.

As TikTok narratives captivate audiences globally, many are quick to self-diagnose based on oversimplified and entertaining portrayals of ADHD. Amanda challenges these perceptions, emphasizing that ADHD is far more than a meme or an aesthetic. It’s a neurological condition that, despite societal misconceptions, affects every facet of life, including work, relationships, and self-worth.

In a world demanding focus and productivity, those with ADHD often find themselves labeled as scattered or unreliable. Yet, Amanda argues it's not the person but the environment that's unsupportive. Through compelling storytelling, she explores the evolutionary perspectives that celebrate ADHD traits as evolutionary strengths, crucial for our survival as a species.

Dive deep into the emotional and psychological toll of masking in the workplace, especially for neurodivergent individuals who navigate a world designed for neurotypicals. Hear personal anecdotes, like that of Maya, a coaching client grappling with fitting into structured societal expectations while maintaining her neurodivergent identity. Amanda sheds light on the exhausting art of blending in and the urgent need for workplaces to foster environments of psychological safety and acceptance.

This episode is a powerful reminder that thriving goes beyond diagnosis. It’s about understanding and acceptance, challenging the narratives, and breaking free from societal pressures. Welcome to the new episode of the Human Thrive Podcast, hosted by Amanda, a coaching consultant and the founder of Neurodivergent Thrive Coaching. Today, we dive deep into the psychology of feeling 'stuck' and reveal how this purported dead end is not due to a lack of time or busyness, but an underlying fear of change. Unravel your personal narrative that keeps you circling in the mundane, as Amanda unpacks the mindset that chains you to the known but unfulfilling, and shares three powerful tools to dismantle these limitations.

Explore the concept that most of our daily thoughts are repetitive and often negative, essentially forming a loop of self-imposed stories that reinforce our perceived boundaries. Amanda reveals the hard-hitting truth: discomfort and chaos can become a comfort zone, paradoxically familiar and safe, unless actively challenged. Through personal anecdotes and transformative insights, learn why stepping beyond the familiar is daunting yet essential if you aspire to a life of thriving rather than mere survival.

Listen to the inspiring story of a coaching client who transcended the comfort of a draining career to pursue her true passion, illustrating vividly how triumph is a product of action in the face of fear. Amanda emphasizes that high achievers are not fearless; they simply refuse to let fear be an immobilizing factor. As she dismantles the myth that fear must be quashed before action, you'll find encouragement to embrace it as a navigational tool that signals growth.

The episode concluding with a call to action: redefine your identity by focusing on who you want to be, not just what you want to do. Amanda encourages listeners to establish "identity anchors" that drive behaviour and propel actions, reminding us that the journey to elevation starts with one conscious decision to confront our fears head-on. Be motivated by the empowerment that lies in micro bravery and the transformative potential of doing the uncomfortable to create a life that aligns with your deepest desires.

  • Unraveling Childhood Myths: A Journey to Personal Freedom
    2025/05/22

Welcome, my friends, to an empowering episode of the Human Thrive Podcast! I'm Amanda, your host and coaching consultant, founder of Neurodivergent Thrive Coaching. This episode is a call to anyone seeking clarity, growth, and emotional freedom, welcoming neurotypicals, neurodivergents, and anyone finding their way.

Together, let's dive into today's topic: Learning the lies told in childhood and rewriting our stories. We explore the profound impact of childhood beliefs on our adult lives, often limiting us in unseen ways. But fear not, for we hold the power to reshape our narratives.

Childhood is a time of impressionable learning, with our minds open and accepting. We unknowingly absorb words, actions, and preconceived notions, becoming programmed like computers. Aristotle's famous quote, "Give me a child until he is seven, and I will show you the man," underscores this truth. Environment and upbringing play crucial roles alongside genetics, shaping who we become.

Through poignant stories, I illustrate how familial beliefs—like the scarcity mindset around money—deeply influence us. But remember, this isn't about blame. Parents often struggle with their own conditioned beliefs and pass them down unknowingly. Recognizing these patterns is the first step towards change.

Men and boys, too, are impacted. The harmful conditioning to "man up," suppressing emotions, leads to long-lasting effects. Quoting Dr. Bruce Lipton, who suggests that up to 95% of our behavior is driven by the subconscious, it's evident that uncovering and challenging these subconscious scripts is key.

As a coach, I guide clients to awareness and rediscovery, tackling limiting beliefs and crafting new, empowering stories. From fears of public speaking rooted in during-school experiences to reshaping financial beliefs, the work begins by recognizing these patterns.

Stories of overcoming lead us to personal transformation. Through techniques like Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), reframing experiences, and creating new mental scripts, we replace outdated beliefs, rewiring our minds with the help of groundbreaking research on neuroplasticity.

Join us in imagining different past scenarios and forging new futures, embracing the belief that we are the authors of our lives. As we bid adieu to restrictive childhood beliefs, remember: Just because something was once true doesn't mean it must remain. We are becoming, not broken.

If this episode empowers you, share it with someone else on their path of transformation. And if you're ready for coaching support, let's connect. Until next time, stay brave, stay curious, and stay kind to your inner child.
