• A Lesson From B2B Academy: Buyer Beware. Marketing Personalities That Aren’t Always What They Seem
    2022/06/29

Thanks for tuning in for another episode! As I am with all episodes, I'm really looking forward to this conversation because I'm sharing an audio lesson from inside Biz to Brand Academy.

This lesson, "Buyer Beware", is a look at some of the prominent marketing personalities we've seen emerge in the online business space over the last few years. And looking at both the persona evolution and potential for harmful impact as a result.

    1 The Online Celebrity
    2 The Role Model
    3 The Bro Boss
    4 The Prosperity Coach

I'm sharing this for two reasons--

First, I honor an entrepreneur's choice when making business decisions. These personalities are super persuasive (that's how they make their $$). Before investing for your own business you can learn more about the roots of each style  and what to watch out for as you navigate your own educational investments.

Second, in my own experience I made a lot of mistakes by looking at these types of marketing models. Whether I knew it was harmful or not, the impact remains, and I want to pass the information I wish I had then, but didn't, on to you so you are able to avoid some of these missteps.

Here we go... taking a look at 4 marketing personalities (the online celebrity, the role model, the bro boss, and the prosperity coach) that are trending in the online space and what to be mindful of as you look to their self-proclaimed expertise for help.

  • Try This to Increase Client Conversion Consistency
    2022/06/08

Here's a short punch list of things we know clients value... simplicity, accessibility, empathy, choice, & convenience. What I'm sharing in this episode encompasses all of these and based on the number of times I've watched clients successfully implement this, I'm guessing it's easier than other items on that laundry list of things you have to do.

This piece of business information has come up several times recently, so it made sense that I plan an entire episode to talk about it in case you'd like to try it yourself.

This is not a big framework, complicated system, and once I go over it you're probably going to start noticing the companies who do it, and the ones who don't.

Have I piqued your interest? (I'm hoping I have!)

I'm not only going to share what this one thing is, but also how you can implement for your own business (no matter your industry). I'm also going share an example of the impact this makes and the unintentional consequences when businesses don't offer this to their clients.

    What this episode covers:

    • What is a Customer Success Path
    • Why is having one beneficial? (I get into how our brains work on this -- which I love talking about!)
    • What impact does it offer?
    • The consequences without it (with an example from my own recent experience)
    • The 5 Elements to support a successful CSP
    • How to create your own CSP (in only 3 steps)

  • 4: No More Target Market Confusion: The 3 Groups to Focus On in Your Business
    2022/05/17

Have you ever googled the term "target market"? If so, you were likely met with an enormous amount of definitions, graphs, charts, and information that left you feeling like understanding your target market is out of reach or unrelated to your business today.

This episode is all about showing you how you can take advantage of understanding your target market and what that looks like  when applied to the everyday practices you already have in place for greater impact & results.

The 3 groups to focus on for your small business:

1 Potential Customers/Clients: The people who are already at the top of your mind because these are the people you need to make money.

2 Previous & Current Customers: This is the easiest group to market to, but can easily be overlooked and forgotten.

3 Brand Fans: Can someone who won't spend directly with your business actually be valuable to your growth? And if so, how exactly? All of this is covered in this episode.

    Episode Takeaways:

    - Your audience is made up of potential buyers, previous & current customers, and brand fans.

    - They are on unique journeys and will connect to different pillars of content that you share.

    - Potential customers need awareness and familiarity before trusting your business.

    - Previous and existing customers require less effort and are more likely to continue spending.

    - Understanding your target market and audience is the crux for nearly every decision you make.

    - Knowing your audience allows you to better attract great leads and potential customers.

Tune in to today's episode so you can feel more confidence and clarity around your own target market and take advantage of this great information right away!

  • 1: Why Integrative Marketing Works: What It Is & the Story of How I Got Here in My Business
    2022/05/10

Five years ago I was an Event & Program Director, a mom with young kids, a new (to us) house, and I was about to resign from the job(s) I'd held for nearly a decade without one idea of what I was going to do next.

I was sad, but at peace. I knew I needed to make space for something new.

I also knew my mental health needed some serious attention, I'd never truly considered what I wanted out of my career, and I was realizing just how much responsibility falls on the shoulders of women.

In this first episode I tell my entrepreneurship story with emotional details I've not shared publicly before. I talk about what integrative marketing is and why it makes such a positive difference for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

I admit to a somewhat embarrassing moment in a janitor's closet...

The time I told my kids' school I wasn't interested in volunteering...

And how I went from not listening to podcasts to starting one of my own.

Thanks for tuning in to this first episode.

Be sure to leave a review, tap the "+" button to follow the show, and listen to the next episode with my guest, Sarah Wallace, certified Enneagram coach and founder of Enneagram MBA as we talk together about how hustle impacts each of us differently, the motives behind our hustle, and what we’re really looking for when we step into “hustle mode”. It’s a great conversation and I know you’ll get so much out of it

  • 3: 8 Fresh & Fun Questions to Increase Your Website Conversions
    2022/05/10

It’s time to share some fresh, unexpected questions to help make your website better than knew it could be. You ready?!

    Here they are:

1 What is the number one question your business receives?

2 Are the people reaching out to you also booking with you?

3 What feels most painful with your current service scope?

4 What insights are your current clients already providing you?

5 Can you explain the difference between you and your “competitors”?

6 What do you want to overhear someone saying about your business?

7 How many clients do you need to book to hit your target revenue?

8 Where are your existing leads coming from?

    Episode Takeaways:

Listen in as I explain how to use each of these questions so that you can...

    - Set your website up to be as useful as a full-time employee

    - Drive leads towards the services that benefit you and your business most (aka more time, more money)

    - Create stronger connections with your audience which, in return, reduces objections and makes selling easier

    - Stand out as the greatest value in your industry, without needing to be the loudest with your marketing.

  • 2: The Motives Behind Our Hustle with Sarah Wallace of Enneagram MBA
    2022/05/10

There is no better first guest for the show than certified Enneagram coach, Sarah Wallace, founder of Enneagram MBA and host of her own podcast, Enneagram MBA.

Sarah provides individual coaching, team training, and event speaking focused on women professionals, female founders, and organizations looking for guidance through the Enneagram to help them and their teams leverage their leadership strengths and navigate through reoccurring struggles to achieve both professional success and personal fulfillment.

Telling women to be more confident isn't working.
How about supporting women so they can get to know more about and begin to like themselves instead?

In this episode we talk about...

    • How women are using the Enneagram specifically, the parts they're finding most helpful, and why they're eager to keep learning more.

    • The difference (and benefits!) to using a qualified support system to explore the Enneagram for yourself verses learning it alone.

    • Sarah gives one of the best overviews of the nine types I've heard (in over 4 years) and debunks outdated generalizations we commonly hear about certain types.

    • How each type hustles and the motivation behind it so that we can identify potentially unhealthy hustle habits, understand why not everyone can, or will, hustle in the same ways and what we might be looking for when we opt for hustle-like behavior.

    • How our orientation to time (past, present, future) influences our approach to stress, processes, problem solving, and even conflict with others.

    • An integrative marketing approach that gives you the power to support not only your business's well-being, but yours too.
    • Ideas, inspiration, leadership support, and best practices that help you expand your possibilities (and not so much to-do lists, magic formulas, or any set rules...).
