Baba Kamau Kambon was born Henry Richard (Richie) Carey on
September 5th,1943 to Barbara Lord Carey and Henry Carey in Brooklyn,
New York. He was their firstborn son and the firstborn grandson of the
Honorable Ferrara Levi Lord and Mildred Thornhill Lord of the well-
known black owned Paragon Credit Union of Brooklyn, New York.On December 28th/29, GMT 2023 Baba Kamau Kambon/Nana Kwasi Agyeman passed from this world in Accra, Ghana, West Afrika. His wife, Mawiyah, his daughter, Nataki, and his son, Ọbádélé were byhis side. His passing was unexpected, yet they are honored to have been with him at the time.
Baba Kamau Kambon is survived by his wife, Mama MawiyahKambon; his childrenAyanna, Nataki, Ọbádélé, and his daughter-in-law, Kala Kambon and son-in-law Alan Rolette; his eight grandchildren; Alex Rolette, Adam Rolette, Austin Rolette, Ama Kambon, Kwaku Kambon, Akosua Kambon, Afia Kambon, and
Nana Yaw Kambon; a host of favorite cousins, his mother’s informally adopted daughter, Jackie McMickens and many extended family and friends too numerous to mention;
many who are like brothers. Baba made his transition to join so many beautiful and powerful Grandcestors in the spirit realm. Yes, he hit a home run out of the
park-living a life that will be remembered and cherished always. Baba, you will never be forgotten. Your legacy continues.
