  • When Choosing Abortion Leads to Generational Womb Healing
    2024/11/01

037: This week we have a beautiful and fascinating personal history to unwind with my dear friend Kate. She is one of many women I know who has experienced an abortion in this lifetime. She is also someone who registered this experience very differently than most - including the women in her maternal lineage. To her, this wasn't traumatic and was well integrated over time. In this episode, we dive SO deeply into this vulnerable topic in the hopes to liberate others and to share what is possible when women make their bodies' wellbeing a priority.

    Feeling the Pulse on

    • The similar "hiding" of tampons, abortions, and many other pelvic health related topics
    • Kate's cosmic history with the womb - beginning with fainting learning about her period
    • The belief system Kate had around fertility and the surprising realization about her mom's personal history with HER womb
    • MAPS conference, sitting with Aya, and memories of assault
    • Confronting assault and abortion timelines of healing trauma to the pelvis
    • What happened when Kate found out she was pregnant with her partner in Mexico
    • How Kate’s abortion was actually HEALING for her and how she processed it over the past year
    • Powerful inner knowing as the seasons change and honoring her one year anniversary
    • More thoughts on her choice

    2024/10/18

036: My sweet client-turned- soul friend Jessica Grody joins us to share about her pregnancy, birth and (almost) one year postpartum experience. Jess felt the desire to seek pelvic PT at 8 months pregnant and has a LOT to say about it, especially as an extremely active and avid runner, swimmer, yogi and now, mama. She hopes that with sharing her postpartum struggles and triumphs, people feel less alone and are better understood.

    Feeling the Pulse on

    • How an old tailbone injury from gymnastics set Jess on a path to seeking pelvic PT
    • Her fears around giving birth and moving through those in pelvic PT prenatal sessions
    • Pelvic floor checks, proper breathing mechanics and cues we hear in certain circles
    • Jess's personal experience with birth
    • Reframing recovery in postpartum into more of a rediscovery, mirroring her child's progression
    • Spreading awareness and sharing about pelvic care for more women AND providers to understand this process and postpartum period
    • Why supporting women + mothers is so important
    • A holistic approach for pelvic care + Dr. Brittney's work
