  • Episode 7: The Alcasser Girls
    2023/09/09

Miriam García Iborra, Antonia Gómez Rodríguez and Desirée Hernández Folch, known as the Alcàsser Girls were three teenage girls from Alcàsser, Valencia, Spain, who were kidnapped, raped, tortured and murdered after hitchhiking to visit a nightclub in the nearby town of Picassent on 13 November 1992. The case became notorious in Spain because of the brutality of the crimes, the highly-criticised police investigation and the resulting media coverage.

The autopsies revealed the existence of seven hairs with seven distinct DNA profiles, none of them belonging to any of the girls or either of their alleged murderers, Antonio Anglés and Miguel Ricart. Of the two, Ricart was the only one jailed; the whereabouts of Anglés, still among Interpol's most wanted criminals, remains unknown.

  • Episode 4: The Murder of Linda Agostini
    2023/09/02

On Saturday, 1 September 1934, the badly burnt body of a woman with a bullet through the neck was found in a culvert running under Howlong Road in Albury, New South Wales, Australia. The body of the woman became posthumously known as Pyjama Girl.

The body remained unidentified for a decade until an Italian-Australian man, Tony Agostini, confessed to killing his wife, Florence Linda Agostini, a woman who had been missing since late August 1934. Police said they had matched the dental records from the body with Linda Agostini's, though Linda Agostini was ruled out as the victim in the initial investigation. Tony Agostini was arrested and charged with murder. He was then brought to trial and convicted of the lesser offense of manslaughter, and was sentenced to 6 years in prison. He was paroled after 3 years and 1 month and was deported to Italy.

Decades later, doubt was cast upon the conclusion that Pyjama Girl was actually Linda Agostini due to inconsistencies between the body of Pyjama Girl and Linda Agostini.

Fanny Adams was an eight-year-old English girl who was murdered by solicitor's clerk Frederick Baker in Alton, Hampshire, in 1867. The murder itself was extraordinarily brutal and caused a national outcry in the United Kingdom. Fanny was abducted by Baker and taken into a hop garden near her home, where she was brutally murdered and dismembered; some parts were never found. Further investigations suggested that two small knives were used for the murder, but it was later ruled they would have been insufficient to carry out the crime and that another weapon must have been used.
