    2024/12/13

Discussing the breaking news of Kyle Tucker being traded from the Houston Astros to the Chicago Cubs and how it could cause a domino effect for the rest of free agency.

Going into basketball topics, Jabari and I break down the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets and how Fat Joe thinks Karl Anthony Towns is the most outstanding offensive big-man in NBA History in a world where Nikola Jokic exists. We discuss the logic of Fat Joe. Ben Simmons, being linked with the Celtics via trade or buyout and his role.

Jimmy Butler looks like he will be out of Miami soon, as Miami is descending into continuously inconsistent and middling form. His remaining $100million over two years makes a deal interesting. The logic of the Miami Heat's GM Pat Riley over the last few years for sitting on his hands.

  • When the Levy Continues to Break; Ashworth vs Olabe to Replace Edu as Arsenal Sporting Director
    2024/12/13

Tottenham is on the cusp of firing Ange Postecoglu and has a rumored replacement; however, is it time to start blaming Levy for botching multiple transfer deals and failing to capitalize on the substantial fees they received for Gareth Bale and Harry Kane?

As Edu Gaspar departs Arsenal in the middle of their project, Managing Director Michael Garlick and Manager Mikel Arteta could have different views on who takes over. Garlick's previous West Bromwich Albion connection with former Manchester United Sporting Director Dan Ashworth and Arteta's long admiration for Sociedad's Roberto Olabe could be the pivotal battle for the Gunners.

West Ham's Mikhal Antonio was in a very bad car crash, and he's lucky to be alive; Ruben Amorim's struggles early on at Manchester United and potential for MLS to grow even further.

  • Everything Comes Full Circle ft. Jabari Wharwood
    2024/12/01

November 30th was a tough day for Ohio State fans like myself. Watching head coach Ryan Day lose to The Team Up North again, scoring 13-10, was a devastating experience. It took time to heal from that loss, reflect on potential replacements in case Day is fired or decides to step down and consider his tenure as Ohio State's head coach.

The other rivalry games are discussed, along with the chippiness exhibited in some of the more heated rivalries, such as NC State/UNC, FSU/Florida, Ohio St./Michigan, and my feelings about planting the flag on the field being a juvenile behavior.

After 30:00 or so, Jabari (SSAW Full Court Press) joins the podcast to discuss business with his Brooklyn Nets, the pending "fire sale" announced on Friday, in which all players are made available. This includes Cameron Johnson, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Cam Thomas. Why should the Nets try to keep Cam Thomas?

Transitioning into what direction the Pelicans can go regarding the uncertainty they must address regarding the future of Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson. I also wanted to know the best place for Brandon Ingram.

We also discuss how teams like the Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers faced public pressure to trade their stars, Donovan Mitchell and Trae Young, and have managed to right the ship in both places. Dyson Daniels' impact on the Atlanta Hawks makes a big difference for them.

Closing the episode, we chat about the WNBA Expansion Draft for the Golden State Valkyries and the players they could draft in it. They will also have other terms that are new to the Expansion Draft capacities as opposed to the past.

  • The Football Pick Ems of the Feast Across Both Sides of the Atlantic
    2024/11/28

    Episode 6:

Riding solo on this Thanksgiving Episode as I announce my move to join the Fansided Team as a Contributor to The Top Flight, their page covering the Premier League. I discuss my recent YouTube videos discussing Manchester City's recent skid in their European and Premier League play as opposed to their opponents and Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Liverpool have been fresh and hot off the mark under Arne Slot. Even with Mo Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold on their way out this summer, they still play without distractions. In early December, I break down the schedules for the top four teams in the Premier League to judge their upcoming results, including Arsenal and Chelsea.

Premier League Pick-ems for the next week!

Champions League play is discussed, however uncertain, as this new format provides a lot of intrigue and could be a way to see how other managers adjust.

Mack Brown's firing by the University of North Carolina this Tuesday was the big news in CFB. The coach was in his second stint. I state who the coaches who would best fit their direction could be.

CFB Pick ems for Friday and Saturday

Why will Uconn certainly not three-peat after yet another loss? It's WAY too early to make a Final 4 Prediction; Auburn is included!

  • Sins of Omission ft. Stanley Moreau
    2024/11/24

    Send us a text

For episode 5, I was joined by Stanley! Stanley and I have a long history, and we catch up on some post-election thoughts and what we believe the country's direction is going. We break down most cabinet positions and our reactions to how Trump didn't "appoint a libertarian" to a cabinet position. We debate all the jargon on X and Facebook. We talk about possible 2028 candidates who could have a chance and some history to reflect some of the patterns we've seen in this election.
We discuss the tone of the election and all the other media matters, including the presence of independent media, the impact of Elon Musk, and the endorsement of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard, who were both appointed—the sheer impact of the Joe Rogan Podcast interviews featuring President Trump and now Vice President-Elect JD Vance.
After the hour mark, we dove into some sports topics, alluding to the Red Sox's pursuit of Juan Soto and the impact of losing Mookie Betts and Xander Bogart. Signing Soto doesn't absolve them of that horrendous trade. The impact of Drake Maye is discussed as he's growing into his starting QB role.

  • Bruins Scapegoat Jim Montgomery and the Hoosiers/Buckeyes Preview ft. Adam Portrait and Jason Youcom
    2024/11/20

    Send us a text

In this episode, I was joined by two guests. First, I was joined by Adam Portrait, and since we grew up together we reflected on some Boston sports memories. The Boston Bruins had just announced that HC Jim Montgomery was fired. From there we ventured into the Bill Belichick rumors, why the Cowboys are a better fit than the Giants…
How about those Celtics? They were playing the undefeated Cavaliers at the time of recording. The Celtics likelihood to repeat and who the best contenders could be… The Red Sox meeting with Juan Soto is exciting however it comes with bitter feelings as we remember the Mookie Betts trade that hurt the team for quite a few years. Closing out the first half with Adam, I branch into the Patriots in what all of the change signifies, especially with HC Jerod Mayo and rookie QB Drake Maye.
Once Adam and I concluded, I was joined by Jason Youcom of the Mosaic Minds Podcast, and being from Indiana as a life long Hoosier fan… it was a pleasure to bring him on and discuss the rise of the Hoosiers football program this season under HC Curt Cignetti, who was hired from James Madison. We also preview the Ohio State matchup and how the Hoosiers will fare traveling to Columbus. We also go through our thoughts on the new era of College Football and the Playoff Rankings released shortly before recording on November 20th.

  • Reformed Hooligans Reunion ft. Osahon Obazuaye
    2024/11/17

    Send us a text

It was a pleasure to invite Osahon on for this hour long chat about the happenings of the world of football, yes, football. Having just heard the news about Lyon's potential relegation, it led me to write and analyze my previous research on Ligue 1.
The French Giants are bound for League 2 relegation, the same fate that was handed down last year to FC Bordeaux, who were sent to the bottom tier of French football. Before the pandemic, Ligue 1 were viewing the TV deals across the competitive leagues and needed a TV Deal to propel them as a league and promote their product. However, as opposed to the NBC/Sky Sports deal the Premier League got which extends to North American waters, and in comparison to La Liga and Serie A’s deals with Paramount Plus/TNT and ESPN+ respectively, the league failed to secure the type of collective TV revenue to boost the status of their struggling clubs. The effects of this media deal disaster could be best described by a June 2024 quote to the Athletic, “It’s a national scandal. It’s huge, huge news for the industry. An incoming shipwreck that is just about to hit the rocks and people don’t seem to realise what’s happening.” Athletic 6/2024 The LFP has been trying to sort its new TV deal — for the rights to show Ligue 1 matches from 2024 to 2029 — since October, when an ambitious auction looking to bring in €1billion (£840m; $1.1bn at the current rates) a year was scrapped because there were no takers. At that time, LFP president Vincent Labrune had hoped to spark a bidding war involving current broadcast partners Amazon Prime and Canal+, as well as Qatar-based beIN Sports, British sports streamer DAZN and potentially U.S. media giant Apple. Yet no offer came and so Labrune was forced to go back to the drawing board.” The team are owned by Eagle Football Group and owner John Texter, who owns 77% stake of the club and owns Brazilian club Botafogo, and London club Crystal Palace, has publicly said he’s confident they’ll meet the financial guidelines in the appropriate deadlines, but having seen what has happened to Bordeaux should spell plenty of warning in France.
Also discussed in the episode, Jurgen Klopp taking over in his new role with Red Bull, and yet they are 9-1-1, leaders of the Premier League, and City's "slide" despite being 2nd. We also praise Nottingham Forest! What could Pep's next tinker that could shift the forward as Rodri will be out for the season. Alot of this transitioned into discussing teams across the other major leagues.
We finish the episode discussing the incidents in France and the Netherlands being reported in the New York Times, and the conflicting reports. There have been other attacks on players and supporters representing both sides of the issue across central Europe.

  • The NBA Pod: Early Season Complaints and Having No Sympathy for Giannis and the Milwaukee Bucks
    2024/11/17

    Send us a text

    This is Episode 2,
An all NBA pod! I omitted some NBA topics in the first episode and in light of the NBA having a ratings decline, and having the season just gotten underway I do examine what I think the reason is.
I break down the Nike/Giannis pettiness towards Jaylen Brown and where the Bucks collapse began... and it wasn't just Doc Rivers. I discuss the possible trade destinations for him including the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets.
I also give the Cleveland Cavaliers their flowers and explain how they will definitely a threat for the Eastern Conference Finals along with the New York Knicks and defending NBA Champion Boston Celtics. The key was prying Donovan Mitchell, and having him commit long term, I'll explain the dominoes that occurred at that time.
I also tease the Episode 3 which will be released on Sunday Evening,
