Therapy that goes beyond just "breathwork"

  • サマリー

  • I wanted to make a quick video discussing the process of actual effective therapy. A complain/comment that I've encountered as a working mental health clinician and one that I encountered again today in a Reddit threat about signs of a bad therapist, was that people have seemingly encountered therapists who do nothing but breathwork or grounding/calming strategies. While calming strategies clearly have a place, and ensuring that people know about them is helpful, this isn't the bulk of therapy (or at least it shouldn't be). Finding out the reasons that are causing someone's problems (external or internal) and finding resolutions and strategies for those problems should be the collaborative approach of a client and clinician. If you have any questions, drop a comment and I'll be sure to respond. Discord: https://discord.gg/CsNwGcUKUf
