For 45 YEARS, I carried the name Fabiana. A name that never felt... fitting. It was beautiful nonetheless but seemed... tainted. Like its origin wasn't empowered by a truly positive meaning. I had always known that I was named after my father's mother, my grandmother. However, that is all I knew. So I let it be.

Over the 2021 Thanksgiving Holiday, I decided to ask mi mamita (my mother) to share the story of how she and my father met. A story I never heard before. The truth that unfolded was something I will never forget!!  And I guarantee you won't either. The epically inspiring story that inspired me to legally change my name.  An act of self love inspired by true heroism.

This Episode is a small continuation of my coming out story along with me answering questions submitted to me by listeners. Being queer doesn't have to feel lonely and it doesn't have to feel hard but the truth is, at times, the path feels like both of those things. It's time we, as a community of queers and queer advocates, come together to cultivate a journey of least resistance by creating safe spaces and places for one another. Starting doesn't have to be big, it just takes a step forward.

Today, she proudly stands in her own queer skin being lead, guided and grounded by her own spirituality.
