Thought Leadership and Global Aging

  • サマリー

  • The Discover Halifax Podcast highlights all the sector expertise and research stories coming out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Learn about the people contributing globally to solve some of the world’s largest problems. And, you’ll gain a unique perspective on why you (and your group) needs to host your next event in Halifax.

Over the next 50 years, an aging population globally will change the way we live and work and impact our culture, our economy, our cities, and more.

Today, Dr. Zachary Zimmer joins host Paul Bailey to discuss all the ways that Halifax is contributing to, and leading the world in research for Global Aging. Dr. Zimmer, a gerontologist at Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) is linking state-of-the-art advances in biological and DNA testing with social survey research to examine how traumatic events experienced during war can get ‘under the skin’ and influence the long-term health of survivors. A Tier I Canada Research Chair and Director of the Global Aging Community Initiative was recently awarded $1,250,776 over four years from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Project Grants.
