  • Wests Tigers Coaching Deep Dive with Adel Hage
    2025/07/15
Wests Tigers Podcast has a special edition episode for you with a deep dive into Wests Tigers coaching and game play.
Eddie is joined by guests Rob Bechara and Coach Adel Hage from the Wests Tigers Life podcast for a look under the microscope at all things to do with the way Wests Tigers play, and are coached.

Adel is currently coaching Souths Logan Magpies in the Queensland Cup and was previously at the Wests Tigers working with the club's women's teams.

Some of the main topics on the agenda of this special edition pod are Benji Marshall's strengths and weaknesses as a coach, and a look at Benji's coaching staff and their different roles.

While other topics up for debate and discussion include:
    • Are we progressing enough under Benji?
    • What's a pass mark for the rest of 2025/2026?
    • What are some of the biggest concerns from here on?
    • How important is trust among the coaching staff?
    • Benji Coaching on the sideline. Good move?
There's also a more specific look at the current playing style of the Wests Tigers. Is it unorthodox? And in defence, how is losing the collision affecting our performances, and how do you fix it?

Eddie, Adel, and Rob also discuss whether Jarome Luai's style will work with Latu Fainu, and is a potential move to 13 for Adam Doueihi a viable option?

There are also some broader questions for the boys to chew on, including: Are old-school coaches on the way out (Madge, Des, Flanagan, etc), and are young players more entitled, or is it the environment you create?

Hit play for a round of Buy/Sell/Hold with topics including the coach, CEO, Api Korosiau, referees, wooden spoons, and home grounds.

We hope you enjoy this special bonus edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, and don't forget to join the discussion on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum.

  • Wests Tigers Get Job Done Against Roosters
    2025/07/06
Winners are grinners, and Wests Tigers fans are grinning today after a gritty win against the Roosters.

This post-victory edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast celebrates that 30-28 win at Allianz Stadium yesterday afternoon.

Some of the key points for discussion include:
    • The performance of all three Fainu brothers
    • The crisp service from Tristan Hope
    • Sunia Turuva impressed as a stand-in fullback
    • Adam Doueihi's work steering the side around
With our three major strike weapons (Api, Luai, and Bula) all set to return to the team in the coming weeks, have we finally turned a corner?

The guys and girls over on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum also come through with some great 'One Word' contributions post-match.

These contributions range from Relief to Poetry, and even Grand Final!

There were a couple of areas of our play that weren't quite as polished yesterday, and we discussed these.

We also talk centres, and more specifically, who should get the spot that looks set to open up through the injury to Starford Toa? Does Naden come back in? Or does Taylan May get a shot?

On the recruitment front, the boys state their position on signing a veteran wrecking ball prop from Canberra.

We also take a look at 'Richo's meter' - are the Tigers slowly moving up to average??Oh, and Steve has a rant about the price of food at the football!

It's great to be able to bring you all a happier edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast. Let's all hope there are many more post-win editions before the end of the season.

  • Battered Wests Tigers Prep For Roosters Showdown
    2025/07/02
It’s the midweek edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast with Eddie, Steve, and Declan. After a promising start to the year, we weary Wests Tigers fans are trying to pick ourselves off the floor, and the podcast boys are no different. There is a preview of our sides clash with the Roosters, a game that potentially has all the hallmarks of a Wests Tigers flogging. But, with the Roosters also missing several star players, are they ripe for a loss in this one? The boys also dig into some of Shane Richardson's quotes on departed hooker, Tallyn De Silva. Was the boss right to let the talented rake walk now? Or is the club continuing to just be the NRL walkovers? Also up for discussion on this edition of the pod is the future of coach Benji Marshall, with the question being - can he withstand this firestorm? Is he too tight with certain players? Should he be joining in at training? And, is he safe beyond 2025? Plus, Eddie, Steve, and Declan rip into a few journalists and ex-players looking for clicks! And Yioti's quiz brings up a player who had big shoes to fill! Don't forget, win, lose, or draw, to leave your 'One Word' submission on the Roosters game in the live match thread on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum. And feel free to join in the discussion on any Wests Tigers topic as well! Let's hope that the boys can jag a rare Roosters win this weekend, and we'll see you for the post-match edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast on Monday morning.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

  • Another Tough Time For Wests Tigers Fans
    2025/06/29
Just when things look like turning at Wests Tigers, we seem to end up back in the doldrums. As things stand, there's not much to be happy or optimistic about, and yes, that does come through on this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast. After surrendering to an under-strength Manly at Brookvale Oval on Friday night, Wests Tigers fans are now braced to lose another young prospect, Tallyn Da Silva. Reports say the young hooker, touted by former coach Tim Sheens as a generational talent, has played his last game for us. But, in true Wests Tigers fashion, we really could use him, at least this weekend, with Api Koroisau being unavailable due to a failed HIA. Up for discussion on this edition of the podcast is the logic of letting Tallyn go to another club mid-season (although we struggle to find much logic in it). The effects of letting players walk mid-season with nothing or very little in return. We ask, why should the club's loyal members keep tipping in their hard-earned cash when the club consistently gives up on seasons at the mid-way point? And will the team, after six straight losses, now drop its bundle completely? Or, will there be a turnaround? There's a strong list of 'One Word' submissions from the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum, ranging from "Depressing" to "Confused" and 'Groundhog Day". Despite the woes, there are a couple of positives discussed, including another win for the NSW Cup team and the performances of the Fainu brothers on Friday night. Eddie has a new game to bring us as well. Unfortunately, it is another post-loss edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, but we hope that you do enjoy it.
