  • To Travel Or Not To Travel
    2024/11/26

Charlotte, Charlie and Milie discuss travelling with your Nanny families.

Something that is deemed very glamorous by people not in the industry… But is it?

Nannies are travelling for their bosses, their bosses’ children and for the enjoyment of their bosses.

The ladies discuss the sticky subject of overtime, when a Nanny should begin begin paid from and until, should an inconvenience fee be paid and why, should the Nanny have their own bedroom. All in all setting the boundaries before the travel commences!

Plus there are the usual hint and tips on how to travel as easily and successfully as possible with some funny stories thrown in for good measure too!

    Listener’s Question:

    Dear What The Nanny Heard,

I am looking for a new job and I have found a live-in job that I really like. I have met with the parents and children and I think I will be offered the job soon. I am only really wanting to live-in to save some money to get a deposit on my own property.

This family are looking for a long term Nanny and I am looking for a long term job. But I would really like to only live-in for a couple of years. How do I speak to them about potentially going to live-out whilst I am working there without rocking the boat?
