He has penned a novel, Break Point, to share his life story and secrets for achievement. Joining us at Audible Studios is award-winning novelist and mental health advocate Nathan Filer. His new book, The Heartland, breaks down the misconceptions associated with schizophrenia. Filer, who previously worked as a mental health nurse, opens our minds to new way of thinking about mental health and about ourselves.

It examines black identity through a list of insults and insights and everything in between. In this interview, Jeffrey told us what he learnt writing the book, why ‘black’ and ‘white’ are woefully inadequate and about the importance of teaching broad history and not getting stuck in old narratives.

Joining us at Audible Studios is television presenter, author and teaching fellow Emma Dabiri, who has published her first book, Don't Touch My Hair. This book is all about why black hair matters and how it can be seen as a map of decolonisation. Dabiri takes us through the significant times, from pre-colonial Africa through the Harlem Renaissnace and Black Power and on to today's Natural Hair Movement.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Alex Bertie, YouTube vlogger of his transgender journey and author of Trans Mission: My Quest to a Beard. When Alex was born, doctors took one look and put an 'F' for female on the birth certificate, based on genitals. When Alex was 15 he realised he was a transgender man, through many years of struggling with identity. After coming out to family and friends, Alex battled the health-care system in order to take male hormones, have surgery, change his name and grow a beard.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Dan Abnett, British comic book writer and novelist, who has contributed to series for Marvel, DC Comics and Games Workshop's Black Library. Abnett is one of the Black Library's main authors, and certainly one of their best sellers. Writing within the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Abnett has authored infamous series such as Horus Heresy, Gaunt's Ghosts and Eisenhorn. Abnett has also written prolifically for Marvel and DC, as well as 2000 AD.

Joining us at Audible Studios is English actress and model Dani Dyer, who won ITV2's Love Island in the summer of 2018. In her first book, What Would Dani Do?, Dani shares her experiences of growing up, going through bullying, relationships, insecurities...and being Danny Dyer's daughter! She gives advice to fans whilst showing how she’s still figuring it all out herself. We spoke to Dani about including Jack in the book, what she’s learnt from her dad and why hair removal cream should probably be kept away from your upper lip!
