We have lost touch with who we are and how we want to live. It started at birth. From birth we are molded according to the beliefs and ideals of others, and our own potential is ignored. Ecstasy: The Forgotten Language invites us to rediscover our natural state of ecstasy. We have lost touch with our intrinsic nature, says Osho, because we no longer live existential lives; we put our whole focus on our private lives. We have lost contact with the real and live almost entirely in our minds, in our imaginations. This makes us dull and unhappy and unavailable for what life is really offering us. Society and civilizations originally evolved to support and protect us, but now the situation has reversed and instead we find ourselves existing to sustain them.

Everybody is afraid of intimacy. It is another thing whether you are aware of it or not. Intimacy means exposing yourself before a stranger. We are all strangers - nobody knows anybody. We are even strangers to ourselves, because we don't know who we are.

One of the most fascinating talks by Osho on meditation. We gain a deeper understanding and an actual experience about meditation by listening to this talk which brings us into a space of meditation. "Meditation is the very center of my whole effort. It is the very womb out of which you are going to be re-born. But it is very difficult to verbalize it. To say something about meditation is a contradiction in terms. It is something which you can have, which you can be, but by its very nature you cannot say what it is."

You say that love and hate are one; but I see more hate in the world than love. At the same time, you say that enlightenment is neither love nor hate. Are you speaking of two different qualities of love? How does this fit with your message of love?

Si conclude con questo quarto volume il viaggio di comprensione sollecitato da Osho sull’onda delle intuizioni che Kahlil Gibran ha lasciato in dono all’umanità, nel suo capolavoro: Il Profeta. Nel volume, Almustafà – il Profeta ideato da Gibran – parla dell’essere naturali, della Bellezza, della Religione e della religiosità, della Morte e della rinascita, ma soprattutto si dilunga nell’Addio, sollecitando a lasciare che tutto ciò di cui si è parlato rimanga come un seme nel cuore.

Rispetto a Gesù viene spontaneo chiedersi qual è la vera motivazione che sottende un’attrazione fatale, tale da rendere ineluttabile un confronto, secolo dopo secolo, malgrado i tanti cambiamenti di prospettive e contesti. Osho chiarisce così: “In Cristo tutte le aspirazioni dell’umanità vengono appagate: è una sintesi rara. Di solito un essere umano vive con angoscia, tormento, ansia, dolore, infelicità. Gesù è in agonia come te, è nato come ogni essere umano – e sulla croce è straziato.

Considerando lo stato delle cose, oggi come all’epoca del Buddha, viene spontanea una domanda: esiste qualcosa, potente come un diamante, in grado di recidere ogni illusione? Qualcosa che ci liberi dall’abituale meccanismo di inibizione che impedisce di partecipare alla fluida armonia della vita? Il discorso del Buddha, tramandato nei secoli come “Il sutra del diamante” sembra contenere questa potenzialità.
