Khalil Gibran är libanesiska poeten och konstnären målare förblev han i Europa och tillbringade större delen av sitt liv i USA. Publicerad i 1923 och består av tjugosex dikter, hans bok Profeten var särskilt populär på 1960-talet under motkultur och New Age rörelser. Eftersom det publicerades, var profeten aldrig slut. Efter att ha översatts till mer än tjugo språk, har det blivit en av de bästsäljande böcker av det tjugonde århundradet i USA.

The words of Kahlil Gibran give his book The Prophet a broad range of inspiration and philosophy. They provide exceptional insight into human desires and understanding. Since first published in 1923, The Prophet written by Kahlil Gibran has never been out of print. This classic has been translated in to more than 50 languages, and is constantly on international best seller lists. The book is made up of 26 prose poems, delivered as sermons by a wise man called Almustafa. He is about to set sail for his homeland after 12 years in exile on a fictional island when the people of the island ask him to share his wisdom on the big questions of life, such as love, family, work and death.

The 55 minutes you spend listening to this audiobook can be magical. Some of these stories and ponderings will be understood clearly, while others may elude you, but not to worry, you will want to listen several times, and the meaning will come to you. Like all great writing, these stories will remain with you.
