We do not start life with the same resources. Nor is everyone presented with the same opportunities along the way. We do not all have access to the same networks. Social capital isn’t easily quantified, but it counts far more than we usually like to think it does.

So how do measure our success? It can’t be accurately measured by comparing ourselves to others. Our success can only be measured by the journey that we ourselves are making.

What kind of obstacles are we overcoming? Are we making the most of the resources and opportunities that are currently available to us? Are we better versions of ourselves today than we were yesterday? How are growing? Are we doing what we can to make the world, or at least our little corner of it, a better place?

These are the true measures of success.
