On this episode of Fuegostine's Music Club I talk with Briscoe about growing up in Texas, touring and their upcoming album. This was a fun one and I hope you enjoy the conversation I had with Briscoe.

    About Briscoe:

West of It All, the debut album from Americana folk-rock band Briscoe, is a coming-of-age soundtrack set against the backdrop of the Texas Hill Country. Written in the Lone Star State and recorded in North Carolina, it’s an album that charts its own musical geography, with production from Grammy nominee Brad Cook (Bon Iver, Waxahatchee, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats) and adventurous songwriting that bridges the gap between classic American roots music and its modern-day incarnation.

From free backyard performances on the outskirts of UT Austin’s campus to sold-out gigs at Antone’s Nightclub and The Continental Club Gallery, Briscoe’s growth — like the group’s music itself — has been organic. Bandmates Truett Heintzelman and Philip Lupton built their grassroots following the old-school way: by carving out a sound that nodded to the golden era of folk, rock, and pop music, then getting onstage and building a genuine relationship with their audience. That authenticity led to opening slots for Caamp and Zach Bryan. Signed by ATO Records while still pursuing undergraduate degrees as college students, the Texas natives wrote West of It All as graduation loomed in the distance, funneling the stories of their college experience — from heartbreak to hard-won lessons to weekend trips into the rural countryside — into a raw, rugged blend of classic and contemporary influences.

  • Sons Of The East
    2025/08/04

In this episode of Fuegostine's Music Club I sit down with Nic of Sons Of The East. Together we talk about making music for over a decade and how that's changed over the years. We talk about growing up in Australia a little bit as well as the odd phenomenon that was their music not being super popular in Australia right away.

    About Sons Of The East:
Sons Of The East are an indie-folk band from the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia. Band mates Dan Wallage, Nic Johnston and Jack Rollins have already seen their music achieve 100 million streams and over 20 million YouTube views as their popularity continues to soar worldwide.

The band’s motley acoustic-electric sound has become a unique and charismatic trademark: soulful, joyous and irresistible. Songs like Into The Sun, My Repair, Come Away and California have become favourites with over 60 million streams between them.

2019 has been huge for Sons Of The East. With the release of their third studio E.P Burn Right Through, the band have just wrapped up their biggest and most successful tour ever. Sons Of The East played to sell out crowds across Australia, UK and Europe with 54 shows and festivals in front of over 20,000 fans.

The Burn Right Through E.P and it’s runaway singles Nothing Comes Easy, Silver Lining and It Must Be Luck have already achieved over 4 million streams.

August 2019 sees the band return home to start writing and recording their debut album before their first ever tour of North America in April 2020!

Vinyl Garden said: “... ultimately what really makes this band shine is their stage presence (they are a must see live)!”

  • Windser
    2025/07/30

In this episode of Fuegostine's Music Club, I sit down with indie artist Windser. Among other things, we talk about his approach to making music, the release of his self-titled album back in May and what artists kind of inspired him growing up.I hope you enjoy this conversation I had with Windser.

    More about Windser:

Windser is the solo moniker singer/songwriter Jordan Topf chose after retreating to a house in the rural Northern California mountains. In early 2020 he emerged from isolation with songs that reflected heartbreak, loneliness, and the growth one experiences in moments of change. The songs are introspective with gentle acoustic guitars, ethereal layers of vocals, and modern rhythms to paint an emotionally vulnerable picture.
