On this episode of Fuegostine's Music Club I talk with Briscoe about growing up in Texas, touring and their upcoming album. This was a fun one and I hope you enjoy the conversation I had with Briscoe.

    About Briscoe:

West of It All, the debut album from Americana folk-rock band Briscoe, is a coming-of-age soundtrack set against the backdrop of the Texas Hill Country. Written in the Lone Star State and recorded in North Carolina, it’s an album that charts its own musical geography, with production from Grammy nominee Brad Cook (Bon Iver, Waxahatchee, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats) and adventurous songwriting that bridges the gap between classic American roots music and its modern-day incarnation.

From free backyard performances on the outskirts of UT Austin’s campus to sold-out gigs at Antone’s Nightclub and The Continental Club Gallery, Briscoe’s growth — like the group’s music itself — has been organic. Bandmates Truett Heintzelman and Philip Lupton built their grassroots following the old-school way: by carving out a sound that nodded to the golden era of folk, rock, and pop music, then getting onstage and building a genuine relationship with their audience. That authenticity led to opening slots for Caamp and Zach Bryan. Signed by ATO Records while still pursuing undergraduate degrees as college students, the Texas natives wrote West of It All as graduation loomed in the distance, funneling the stories of their college experience — from heartbreak to hard-won lessons to weekend trips into the rural countryside — into a raw, rugged blend of classic and contemporary influences.

  • Sons Of The East
    2025/08/04

In this episode of Fuegostine's Music Club I sit down with Nic of Sons Of The East. Together we talk about making music for over a decade and how that's changed over the years. We talk about growing up in Australia a little bit as well as the odd phenomenon that was their music not being super popular in Australia right away.

    About Sons Of The East:
Sons Of The East are an indie-folk band from the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia. Band mates Dan Wallage, Nic Johnston and Jack Rollins have already seen their music achieve 100 million streams and over 20 million YouTube views as their popularity continues to soar worldwide.

The band’s motley acoustic-electric sound has become a unique and charismatic trademark: soulful, joyous and irresistible. Songs like Into The Sun, My Repair, Come Away and California have become favourites with over 60 million streams between them.

2019 has been huge for Sons Of The East. With the release of their third studio E.P Burn Right Through, the band have just wrapped up their biggest and most successful tour ever. Sons Of The East played to sell out crowds across Australia, UK and Europe with 54 shows and festivals in front of over 20,000 fans.

The Burn Right Through E.P and it’s runaway singles Nothing Comes Easy, Silver Lining and It Must Be Luck have already achieved over 4 million streams.

August 2019 sees the band return home to start writing and recording their debut album before their first ever tour of North America in April 2020!

Vinyl Garden said: “... ultimately what really makes this band shine is their stage presence (they are a must see live)!”

  • Windser
    2025/07/30

In this episode of Fuegostine's Music Club, I sit down with indie artist Windser. Among other things, we talk about his approach to making music, the release of his self-titled album back in May and what artists kind of inspired him growing up.I hope you enjoy this conversation I had with Windser.

    More about Windser:

Windser is the solo moniker singer/songwriter Jordan Topf chose after retreating to a house in the rural Northern California mountains. In early 2020 he emerged from isolation with songs that reflected heartbreak, loneliness, and the growth one experiences in moments of change. The songs are introspective with gentle acoustic guitars, ethereal layers of vocals, and modern rhythms to paint an emotionally vulnerable picture.

  • OSKA
    2025/07/24

In this episode of Fuegostine's Music Club, Matt (Fuegostine) sits down with OSKA to talk about her new album, growing up and the music scene in Austria, as well as maybe her favorite karaoke song. Hope you enjoy this episode with OSKA.

    About OSKA:
Growing up in a small village in Lower Austria, OSKA moved to Vienna at 18 to study her first love; music. She started busking in streets and squares of the capital while also studying pop and jazz singing. She signed to Nettwerk in 2020 and released her debut EP Honeymoon Phase to critical acclaim. The five songs on the album have amassed more than 4 million Spotify streams and won her the XA Music Export Award at Waves Vienna Festival 2020.Now in 2022, OSKA is proud to unveil her debut full-length album My world, My love, Paris. “For so many years making my first album was the biggest thing in the world to me. That‘s probably also why it took me so long to make it. I always wanted it to be special and at times was scared that I wouldn‘t like it five years from now or that I couldn’t identify with the music some time after the release."History, family, and legacy are touchstones of OSKA’s music. Legacy can mean different things to different people. For some, legacy is simply about blood ties. For others, it’s about making positive decisions that will impact future generations. For OSKA, legacy is about both of these things. It’s a theme that looms over her remarkable debut album, My world, My love, Paris. Ultimately it serves as a snapshot of a young woman attempting to make sense of getting older in an increasingly uncertain era.

  • Matt Schuster
    2025/07/07

On this episode of Fuegostine's Music Club, Matt (fuegostine) sits down with country artist Matt Schuster to talk about some of his recently released music, what connecting with fans means to him as well as finding ways to stay authentic to himself in the realm of social media. I hope you enjoy the conversation I had with Matt.

    About Matt Schuster:

Matt Schuster, an emerging country talent, embodies a unique blend of nostalgia for a bygone era and a visionary drive for the future. Hailing from the heart of small-town Southern Illinois, Schuster's artistry resonates with the warmth of classic rock and the invigorating ambition of modern pop, redefining the sonic landscape of Nashville and beyond. Bold, effortlessly soulful and so undeniably invigorating it can stop you in your tracks, the 2023 Nashville Briefing Artist to Watch calls his style a smooth-yet-electrifying vision of new school “country rock.” His major-label debut track "Tell Me Tennessee” received rave reviews from MusicRow, crowning Schuster with the weekly DISCovery Award and calling his sound “one of the most innovative [they’ve] heard these days.” Meanwhile, his latest release “Last Fall” pushes Schuster further out into no-man’s land, mixing vivid lyrics and poetic imagery with the epic electricity powering his revived country-rock vision. As he tours with the likes of Kameron Marlowe, Dylan Scott, Ashley Cooke and Brantley Gilbert, and over 140M+ global artist streams to his name, Schuster aims to prove his staying power in the genre.

  • Lily Kershaw
    2025/06/27

In this iteration of Fuegostine's Music Club, Matt (fuegostine) talks with singer-songwriter Lily Kershaw about her newest album, what depression can do to creativity and if there is such thing as a guilty pleasure song. I hope you enjoy the conversation with Lily Kershaw.

    About Lily Kershaw:

The strongest tool Lily Kershaw wields is her voice, both in the simmering ferocity it carries and the poetry it speaks. For sophomore album Arcadia, she is ultimately telling a story of acceptance, both of herself and the great mystery that is the universe. Together with producer Ben Cooper (Radical Face), Lily takes her classic folk-tinged songs and weaves warmer analog sounds like organ, harpsichord and guitar with cinematic force, creating her most intimate release to date.In song and spirit, Lily is an old soul, but upon initial meeting she's kinetic, ebullient, lively, and kind, quick with a joke and an infectious smile. Lily is a compulsive creator, she jots down melodies and lyrics as she’s wandering through her days. Born and mostly raised in Los Angeles, she offers an antidote to the long-mythologized Los Angeles glitz; she’s authentic, and honest, self-effacing and, above all, she is herself.

  • SYML
    2025/06/17

On this iteration of Fuegostine's Music Club Matt (fuegostine) talks with SYML. We talk about the sync process for songs, what it was like growing up in 90s Seattle as well as his new music. I hope you enjoy the conversation with SYML.

    About SYML:

SYML is the solo venture of artist Brian Fennell. With over one billion lifetime streams, SYML—Welsh for “simple”—makes music that taps into the instincts that drive us to places of sanctuary, whether that be a place or a person. Born and raised in Seattle, Fennell studied piano and became a self-taught producer, programmer, and guitarist. He released his self-titled debut album in 2019, which included the platinum-selling song “Where’s My Love,” and the Gold Record fan favorite, “Girl,” followed by the grief-stricken EP DIM released in 2021. In 2023 he released his sophomore record, The Day My Father Died, which was recorded by renowned producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Vance Joy, Father John Misty) at the infamous Studio X in their mutual hometown of Seattle. The album features collaborations with artists like Guy Garvey (Elbow), Lucius, Sara Watkins, Charlotte Lawrence, and is a document of growth and healing charting Fennell’s journey forward after a fundamental shift in his life.

  • Luke Sital-Singh
    2025/06/13

On this episode, Matt (fuegostine) talks with folk singer-songwriter Luke Sital-Singh on what about depressing music connects us, his new album entitled Fool's Spring, and the pressure of making music in his namesake. Hope you enjoy the episode with Luke.

    About Luke Sital-Singh

If you look hard enough, you might just find yourself. However, the search may never be a matter of miles or a series of drastic shifts. Instead, it often happens when you sit still long enough to let yourself be found. UK-born and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, producer, and self-professed “chronic overthinker” Luke Sital-Singh has engaged this conversation throughout his prolific career, generating millions of streams in the process. Beyond praise from Guitar, Thank Folk For That, and more, Atwood Magazine raved, “Luke Sital-Singh immerses listeners in an intimate array of emotion set against a refreshing expanse of heartland folk and soft rock,” he toured with Angus and Julia Stone, Martha Wainwright, and The Staves and even led his own TED Talk at the official TED Conference in Vancouver. “I’m moved by sad music,” he leaves off. “It makes something beautiful out of something painful. It allows listeners to realize they’re not alone. I’m at a confusing age where I don’t know if I’m doing the right things in my life. I just know I’m Luke, and I made an album.”
