  • Thursday Thoughts - Active Listening
    2024/10/10

    This week, Lucy & I are talking about active listening.👂

    Do you really listen when you’re having a conversation, or are you actually thinking about what your response is going to be? We’re all guilty of it…and we could all improve our active listening skills.

    Lucy & I discuss various aspects of listening, including how annoying it is when people interrupt (and how we both have a tendency to do exactly that!), plus that awful feeling when you’re talking to someone but they’re looking over your shoulder!

    Like so many things, awareness is key; so the next time you’re having a conversation with someone, ask yourself whether you’re truly listening to them, or if your mind is elsewhere.

    When it comes down to it, every single one of us needs and deserves to be heard fully.

  • Thursday Thoughts - Getting The Damn Thing Done

    On this week's Thursday Thoughts, Lucy and I are talking about getting the damn thing done!

    September is a great time of year to check in with ourselves about where we are with our goals. There's still a significant amount of the year to go, but not so much that it feels overwhelming.

    So...what are those things you keep putting off, and how can you just get the damn thing done?!

    Lucy and I discuss how to start taking action, including getting accountability, starting very, very small, and getting the hell out of our own way.

    We also talk about how we have to cultivate motivation by taking action, rather than waiting for the motivation to arrive before we take the action.

    On today’s Monday Motivation, Lucy and I are talking about tapping, also known as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), an emotional form of acupuncture without the needles.

    It’s an amazing brain hack which can be used to help with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, stress, depression, cravings and pain.

    It’s even been proven to reduce stress by up to 43%!

    No matter who you are, where you come from, or what you do, none of us can escape our feelings. They are just part of being human. It’s how we deal with them that counts.

    In this conversation, Lucy and I talk about why it’s so important to allow ourselves to really feel our feelings - both positive and negative.

    We discuss some practical ways to deal with, and then disperse, the not-so-good ones. And we also touch on how to shift your state from feeling rubbish, to feeling great.
