    2024/09/18
With the Melbourne Storm having the week off after winning their Week 1 Qualifying Final against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, Stormy Daniel thought it was an opportune time to sit down and check in with the boss - Storm Chief Executive Officer Justin Rodski. The Storm figurehead graciously gave up his time to come on the Stormcast podcast and discuss some pertinent topics including the collective effort and hard work of the club winning yet another Minor Premiership; growth of rugby league and support for the Storm in Victoria; including record average home crowd attendance and membership numbers; Storm's development pathways and Storm Academy, the exciting women's program leading to a future NRLW team, loyal and longevity commercial partners; why Vegas was not right for the club in 2025 and future commercial ventures, including the prospect of the NRL's third incarnation of its Las Vegas initiative in 2026 as an 'Away' team, the opportunity of taking a Home fixture post Magic Round agreement back to AAMI Park or exploring the possibility of a new market, be it interstate or internationally.

  • Episode 25: Now, the real game begins and a Sharks ambush awaits
    2024/09/10
On this week's episode 'Stormy Daniel' reviews the big drubbing over the Broncos, the team Bellamy and Melbourne love to beat for all the historic reasons, having been born out of the Broncos way back in 1998. A 50-12 win, with Dally M Medal favourite Jahrome Hughes putting on quite a show with two try assists, four line breaks and three tries of his own. An attacking display that will no doubt give the Storm confidence heading into their Week 1 Home Final clash with 2016 Grand Final opponents the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, where AAMI Park will hold no fear for them, having beaten the Storm earlier in the season. A Sharkies ambush will surprise no one. What's making news, your listener questions, and team list Tuesday. Who's in? Who's out for Week 1 of the Finals.

    2024/09/03
Gobbs reviews the gallant effort by the young, inexperienced Storm team, that were missing 11 starting players and 13 regulars when they went down 38-30 to a full strength Cowboys side with the result saying more about the Cowboys than it did against the understrength Storm. Gobbs also covers off on all Storm news, including the latest update on Papenhuyzen, rubbishes the rumours and opinions by one particular News Corp journalist linking Wishart with a move away from Melbourne, your listener questions and team list Tuesday, as the Storm prepare for their final round of the regular season against fierce rivals, the Brisbane Broncos, a rivalry that stems back to 1998.
