  • It Is What It Is – The Reggae Song That Found Its Own Rhythm
    2025/07/08

This week’s song is “It Is What It Is,” a laid-back reggae track with an origin story as unconventional as its groove.

Inspired by an episode of The Simpsons and written with placeholder lyrics — à la “Scrambled Eggs” (the original draft title of Yesterday by McCartney and Lennon) — this song found its soul outside the rules.

We recorded it without a click track. Despite Quincy Jones famously insisting a click is essential, the drummer said, “Bob Marley didn’t need one — neither do we.” We went for it. No click. Just car keys, island spirit, and a pocket you can’t fake. And the result? It came out perfect.

In this episode, I share the creative process, the philosophy of letting things flow, and why sometimes the best groove is the one that doesn’t follow the rules.

  • You Are the Microprocessor: Why Thinking Matters More in the Age of AI
    2025/07/02

This episode is a call to awaken your mind, refine your logic, and engage with AI as a thinking partner—not a substitute. As artificial intelligence evolves, the temptation is to think less—offloading decisions, creativity, and problem-solving to machines. That’s a dangerous path. In this episode, I explore why it’s important to keep thinking more, not less. I share a perspective that compares each of us as individual microprocessor chips— unique, wired with a purpose, and vital to the larger system of human progress. Just like in a computer, the strength of the system relies on each chip doing its part. If we stop thinking critically, we risk dumbing down the technologies meant to serve us.

  • The Scrambler: How Naming Yourself Can Conquer Fear
    2025/06/24

In this solo episode, I share stories from my recent mountain climbs — the fear, the tension, and the unexpected joy of taking the path that felt right instead of the one that looked right. I talk about how I stopped seeing myself as someone “doing something serious” and started calling myself The Scrambler — a name that transformed how I moved through fear and uncertainty.
    This mindset shift changed everything.
I also explore how giving yourself a personal keyword — a name that captures your essence and skill — can become a powerful anchor in stressful moments. It’s not about proving anything. It’s about remembering who you are.

  • Xcode 26, AI, and the Rise of the Hacker Mindset
    2025/06/17

With Apple’s release of Xcode 26 and macOS 26 in beta, developers got a big surprise — full integration of AI and ChatGPT directly into Xcode. Some fear this means fewer opportunities for junior developers. I disagree. As an aerospace engineer turned Apple developer, I never followed the traditional path. I’m what you'd call a hacker— someone who figures things out, not someone who knows everything in advance. And that’s exactly the mindset that will thrive in this new AI-assisted world.

    In this episode, I explore:

    • Why thinking matters more than knowing
    • How junior developers can succeed
    • Why creativity, problem-solving, and persistence are your real career assets

Whether you’re a coder, creator, or curious mind, this is about how to thrive in the future of work.
