  • Mom Turned Getaway Driver Raeanna Ruiz’s Deadly Family Ambush
    2025/07/16
Mom Turned Getaway Driver Raeanna Ruiz’s Deadly Family Ambush

She said he was a stalker. The court said she was a murderer. In this true crime episode, we explore the disturbing case of Raeanna Ruiz—a 35-year-old Albuquerque mother who helped her kids track down and kill a man they believed was watching them. The plan? Confront him. The result? Cold-blooded murder.

On October 18, 2023, Ruiz drove her 16-year-old daughter and 15-year-old son to an apartment complex where 19-year-old Santiago Roybal had taken refuge. Surveillance footage showed him sprinting away from a white SUV—Ruiz behind the wheel—while her daughter chased him with a gun and her son followed with a baseball bat. Moments later, Ruiz allegedly yelled, “Shoot through the door.” Roybal was killed. Another innocent bystander was injured.

The motive? Ruiz’s daughter claimed Roybal had been “watching her through windows.” But there was no official report. Just paranoia, rage, and a mother who encouraged her children to take matters into their own hands.

Police tied Ruiz to the crime using vehicle footage, social media messages, and her own confession. She’s now serving 20 years under New Mexico's truth-in-sentencing law, meaning she’ll do at least 17. Meanwhile, her kids—both underage—are facing open murder charges.

This is more than a family tragedy. It’s a terrifying example of how one parent’s actions can unleash generational consequences. Watch the full story now.

Ret FBI Behavior Chief Breaks Down Kohberger’s Decision To Admit Guilt

Bryan Kohberger shocked many when he admitted guilt to the murders that horrified Idaho and captured the nation's attention. But why did he suddenly choose to plead guilty instead of fighting it out in court? In this detailed episode, retired FBI Behavioral Chief Robin Dreeke provides expert analysis into the psychological motivations behind Kohberger’s dramatic plea decision.

Dreeke carefully unpacks the potential factors influencing Kohberger, including the strength of the prosecution’s case, overwhelming physical evidence, and psychological traits like narcissism, control, and self-preservation. Did Kohberger finally realize he had no path to acquittal, or was his plea part of a broader strategy to assert control over the narrative, potentially denying victims' families the trial they desired?

Listeners get a rare insight into how criminals evaluate plea options psychologically—particularly those with backgrounds in criminal justice education like Kohberger. Dreeke also discusses how Kohberger’s decision impacts victims' families, investigators, prosecutors, and the broader community seeking closure and justice.

Drawing from decades of behavioral analysis, Robin Dreeke explains the often hidden emotional and psychological nuances of plea deals, offering listeners an in-depth understanding of the internal calculus of a convicted murderer. He highlights the significance of Kohberger’s background as a criminology student and how his academic knowledge may have played into his decision-making.

This analysis will clarify why Kohberger ultimately chose to admit guilt, how his decision aligns with psychological profiling expectations, and what this means for criminal justice proceedings and closure for those affected by his crimes.

  • How To Recognize The Signs of An Incel (Even In Your Own Child), Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott Explains

How To Recognize The Signs of An Incel (Even In Your Own Child), Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott Explains

    Description:
What if the signs were there—and you just didn’t know what you were looking at? In this episode, psychotherapist Shavaun Scott helps us break down the early warning signs of incel ideology: what it looks like, how it develops, and how it can quietly take hold in someone’s life—sometimes even your own kid.

We’re not talking about vague rebellion or teenage awkwardness. We’re talking about obsessive resentment toward women, dangerous black-and-white thinking, and an online community that encourages violence as a solution. Shavaun shares what she’s seen in her years of clinical work—when harmless isolation turns into something else.

We walk through key behavioral changes, online activity, language shifts, and emotional red flags that may signal someone is slipping into a worldview that glorifies hatred and justifies harm. This is about pattern recognition—understanding when sadness becomes blame, and when blame turns toxic.

If you’re a parent, educator, or someone working with young people, this episode is essential. This isn’t just a cultural problem—it’s a psychological one. And the sooner we recognize it, the more lives we can change—or save.
