Mom Turned Getaway Driver Raeanna Ruiz’s Deadly Family Ambush

She said he was a stalker. The court said she was a murderer. In this true crime episode, we explore the disturbing case of Raeanna Ruiz—a 35-year-old Albuquerque mother who helped her kids track down and kill a man they believed was watching them. The plan? Confront him. The result? Cold-blooded murder.

On October 18, 2023, Ruiz drove her 16-year-old daughter and 15-year-old son to an apartment complex where 19-year-old Santiago Roybal had taken refuge. Surveillance footage showed him sprinting away from a white SUV—Ruiz behind the wheel—while her daughter chased him with a gun and her son followed with a baseball bat. Moments later, Ruiz allegedly yelled, “Shoot through the door.” Roybal was killed. Another innocent bystander was injured.

The motive? Ruiz’s daughter claimed Roybal had been “watching her through windows.” But there was no official report. Just paranoia, rage, and a mother who encouraged her children to take matters into their own hands.

Police tied Ruiz to the crime using vehicle footage, social media messages, and her own confession. She’s now serving 20 years under New Mexico's truth-in-sentencing law, meaning she’ll do at least 17. Meanwhile, her kids—both underage—are facing open murder charges.

This is more than a family tragedy. It’s a terrifying example of how one parent’s actions can unleash generational consequences. Watch the full story now.

Ret FBI Behavior Chief Breaks Down Kohberger’s Decision To Admit Guilt

Bryan Kohberger shocked many when he admitted guilt to the murders that horrified Idaho and captured the nation's attention. But why did he suddenly choose to plead guilty instead of fighting it out in court? In this detailed episode, retired FBI Behavioral Chief Robin Dreeke provides expert analysis into the psychological motivations behind Kohberger’s dramatic plea decision.

Dreeke carefully unpacks the potential factors influencing Kohberger, including the strength of the prosecution’s case, overwhelming physical evidence, and psychological traits like narcissism, control, and self-preservation. Did Kohberger finally realize he had no path to acquittal, or was his plea part of a broader strategy to assert control over the narrative, potentially denying victims' families the trial they desired?

Listeners get a rare insight into how criminals evaluate plea options psychologically—particularly those with backgrounds in criminal justice education like Kohberger. Dreeke also discusses how Kohberger’s decision impacts victims' families, investigators, prosecutors, and the broader community seeking closure and justice.

Drawing from decades of behavioral analysis, Robin Dreeke explains the often hidden emotional and psychological nuances of plea deals, offering listeners an in-depth understanding of the internal calculus of a convicted murderer. He highlights the significance of Kohberger’s background as a criminology student and how his academic knowledge may have played into his decision-making.

This analysis will clarify why Kohberger ultimately chose to admit guilt, how his decision aligns with psychological profiling expectations, and what this means for criminal justice proceedings and closure for those affected by his crimes.

How To Recognize The Signs of An Incel (Even In Your Own Child), Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott Explains

    Description:
What if the signs were there—and you just didn’t know what you were looking at? In this episode, psychotherapist Shavaun Scott helps us break down the early warning signs of incel ideology: what it looks like, how it develops, and how it can quietly take hold in someone’s life—sometimes even your own kid.

We’re not talking about vague rebellion or teenage awkwardness. We’re talking about obsessive resentment toward women, dangerous black-and-white thinking, and an online community that encourages violence as a solution. Shavaun shares what she’s seen in her years of clinical work—when harmless isolation turns into something else.

We walk through key behavioral changes, online activity, language shifts, and emotional red flags that may signal someone is slipping into a worldview that glorifies hatred and justifies harm. This is about pattern recognition—understanding when sadness becomes blame, and when blame turns toxic.

If you’re a parent, educator, or someone working with young people, this episode is essential. This isn’t just a cultural problem—it’s a psychological one. And the sooner we recognize it, the more lives we can change—or save.

Expert Breakdown: What Exactly IS The Jeffrey Epstein List—And What Does It Reveal?

    DESCRIPTION:
It’s one of the most infamous documents never officially released: The Epstein “client list.” In this must-watch episode, former prosecutor Eric Faddis joins Hidden Killers to break down what the list actually is, what it allegedly contains, and why the U.S. government now claims it doesn’t exist.

What do we really know about the so-called black book, flight logs, and sealed names connected to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell? Faddis separates fact from internet fiction, offering a grounded legal perspective on the origins of the list, the legitimate documents that have surfaced, and what could still be buried in redacted files and sealed court records.

Why do some names get leaked while others remain hidden? What role did prosecutors and power brokers play in keeping certain identities protected? And who benefits most from the public confusion around the term “Epstein list”?

If you're looking for clarity in a storm of conspiracy, this legal breakdown delivers the answers that matter.

Big Breakdown – Where Bryan Kohberger Went Off The Rails

    Description:
Bryan Kohberger didn’t just wake up one day and become a killer. His descent was slow, silent, and terrifyingly calculated. In this episode, we trace the cracks in his life and psyche — and ask the question that haunts every case like this: Where exactly did it all go wrong?

Was it the childhood isolation? The bullying? The "visual snow" disorder? Or something deeper — a disconnect that no one, not even his criminology professors, could identify in time?

We explore his early behavioral shifts, his obsession with serial killers, the signs of rage and narcissism, and how his academic studies may have masked a growing pathology. This is a forensic breakdown of a mind unraveling in plain sight — and how the warning signs were either ignored, dismissed, or never seen at all.

This is not just about Kohberger’s crimes — it's about the slow collapse behind the scenes, and how easily monsters can hide behind honor rolls and PhD ambitions.

  • Pennsylvania Man Sentenced to Life for Beheading Father and Posting Video in Anti-Government Manifesto
    2025/07/16
Pennsylvania Man Sentenced to Life for Beheading Father and Posting Video in Anti-Government Manifesto A Pennsylvania man, Justin D. Mohn, 33, has been sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole after being convicted of first-degree murder and terrorism for the brutal killing and decapitation of his father, Michael F. Mohn, 68, a longtime federal employee. This case marks the first conviction under Pennsylvania's terrorism statute. The crime occurred on January 30, 2024, in the family's Levittown home. Mohn shot his father with a newly purchased pistol, then decapitated him using a kitchen knife and machete. He subsequently posted a 14-minute video on YouTube displaying his father's severed head while espousing violent anti-government rhetoric and calling for the resignation of federal employees. The video remained online for several hours, garnering approximately 5,000 views before being removed. Prosecutors presented extensive evidence of premeditation, including Mohn's online writings and a USB device found in his possession containing images of federal buildings and instructions for making explosives. They argued that Mohn's actions were a calculated attempt to intimidate federal workers and incite rebellion. Mohn was arrested later that day after scaling a fence at Fort Indiantown Gap, the state's National Guard headquarters. He was found carrying a handgun and materials related to his anti-government plans. During the trial, Mohn testified that he believed he was conducting a "citizen's arrest" of his father for treason. He claimed the beheading was intended to send a message to federal employees. Family members delivered emotional victim impact statements, remembering Michael Mohn as a devoted husband and father who provided unwavering support to his son. His wife, Denice, held a photo of her husband receiving the 2019 Outstanding Achievement Award from the Army Corps of Engineers, an award now named in his honor Judge Stephen A. Corr presided over the bench trial and delivered the guilty verdict. In addition to first-degree murder and two counts of terrorism, Mohn was convicted of multiple other charges, including possession of an instrument of crime, firearms violations, criminal use of a communication facility, terroristic threats, defiant trespassing, and abuse. District Attorney Jennifer Schorn described Mohn's actions as "unimaginable" and emphasized his lack of remorse, stating that the sentence ensures the community's safety from further harm. Mohn's defense attorney acknowledged the difficulty of the case and noted that the decision to forego the death penalty was made after extensive discussions with the Mohn family. • Will Kohberger Brag About His Crime In Court?
    2025/07/15
Will Kohberger Brag About His Crime In Court?

Bryan Kohberger’s decision to plead guilty to the Idaho student murders sent shockwaves through the public—but what might happen when he gets a chance to speak publicly at sentencing? Retired FBI Behavioral Chief Robin Dreeke breaks down the unsettling possibility that Kohberger might use his sentencing hearing to brag or grandstand about his crimes.

Dreeke examines past examples of narcissistic offenders who've used courtroom statements as platforms to boast or manipulate public perception, exploring the psychology behind why some killers feel compelled to make shocking, self-aggrandizing statements even after admitting guilt. He assesses Kohberger's known psychological traits, including his reported narcissism, desire for infamy, and perceived superiority, to analyze whether he is likely to turn his final moments in the public eye into a disturbing spectacle of self-glorification.

Listeners will learn how law enforcement and courtroom officials typically prepare for such scenarios, ensuring that victim families are protected from further emotional harm during sentencing statements. Dreeke provides expert insight into the warning signs that Kohberger could exhibit during his final court appearance, and whether his legal team can—or will—even try to stop him from making inflammatory remarks.

This episode is an essential exploration of the psychological compulsions that drive killers to brag about their crimes publicly and the impact such statements have on the justice process, the victims' families, and society’s broader understanding of criminal psychology.
