Some days I've felt so alone and some days I'm crying tears of joy for how strong my community is. I'm breaking it down in this episode. What are the qualities of a strong and abundant community vs. when I'm feeling lonely? I share stories from my van life days and utilize a tool from the worn to wild system in this episode. It's reverse engineering my own strengths to help myself (and you) succeed.

And you should treat yourself like one! Let's glamorize everything about your life so that even "mundane" tasks like taking out the trash have a classy, exciting vibe to it. How does facilitation of psychedelics differ from recreational use and how does it translate into personal growth and paddling progression? In this episode, Danielle (She's trained in psychedelic-informed practices) and I explore what it's like to integrate personal transformation into paddling and adventure sports. The episode is really about this integration rather than the specifics of psychedelic facilitation and a lot of our conversations surprised me (as someone who doesn't really "do drugs").

    ---

Danielle is a whitewater kayaking, kiteboarding, mountain biking, rock climbing, and snowboarding. She has spent the last 10 years living in the Hood River and White Salmon areas of Oregon and Washington where she has embraced a life as a full-time adventurer. Danielle has also spent time in sunny locations in the winter to teach kiteboarding. Beyond outdoor recreation Danielle has a Master's degree in Psychology and loves learning about human nature and ways for us to live more embodied and balanced lives. She is currently building a creative podcast project to blend topics of healing with psychedelic medicines and outdoor recreation.

Class II badass? Hell yes. I said it and I meant it. Today I brought on a friend of mine, Erica Shanks to explore what it means to be a badass regardless of what level gnar you're sending. Why is this such a thing that people get stuck on? How can we support each other and ourselves more in celebrating the strengths we have?! I think this is one of the best episodes yet. <3

Rob Giersch (giersched@bellsouth.net) is a retired engineer who has always had a creative itch and loved the outdoors. He's channeled those passions into whitewater photography and the Southeastern Paddling Community, volunteering at numerous ladies events (that's how we met)! That passion has led to lifelong friendships, a greater perspective on life, and a few job opportunities. His camera forces him (the introvert) to step out of his comfort zone to engage with the world, and every time he does he's rewarded with experiences he never could have imagined.
